Homemade Reeses Peanut butter cup cut in half to show texture

These are truly amazing!  I made these Copy Cat Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups as a gift for my husband.. but of course, I had to test one out.  Ok, two..  I tested two.  And then he gave me one… to share. And then I stole one… but there were still lots left for him!

Anyhow, these are actually really easy to make although they do take some time.  The final product came out beautifully and I was so excited to give them as a gift!  I used a high-quality milk chocolate which just added to the decadence of these peanut butter cups.  You could use dark chocolate or even chocolate chips if that happens to be what you have on hand!

Enjoy… although I don’t think I have to tell you that! ;)

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Total Time 7 minutes
Servings 24 peanut butter cups

Equipment

peanut butter cup mold
OR silicone muffin liners

Ingredients

  • ¾ pound Good quality dark or milk chocolate
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • cup graham crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Chocolate

  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave on medium power, stirring every 30 seconds. Avoid overheating the chocolate to prevent it from seizing.
  • Pour about a teaspoon of melted chocolate into each well or muffin liner. Use the back of a spoon to spread it up the sides, ensuring the bottom and sides are completely covered.
  • Freeze the mold for 30 seconds to firm the chocolate. Correct any thin spots if necessary.
  • Refrigerate the mold until the chocolate is cold.

Peanut Butter Filling

  • In a bowl, combine peanut butter, powdered sugar, salt, and graham crumbs.
  • Press approximately 2 teaspoons of the peanut butter mixture into each well, flattening it gently.

Top

  • Pour enough melted chocolate over the peanut butter to cover it entirely. Tap the mold to level the top.
  • Refrigerate until the chocolate is firm.
  • Once set, your peanut butter cups are ready to be enjoyed!

  1. so I saw for the recipe I’ll need round cup wrappers like cupcake holders can I just use those instead of what’s mentioned in the recipe?

  2. I’d love to try this recipe but I don’t see instructions for the peanut butter cup mold…if I use the mold is there any prep work or do you just put the chocolate straight in…how to you get the cups out? thank you

    1. Hi Kathryn, I would follow the instructions as written for the mold. If you are having issues getting them out you could try using a muffin liner. I hope this helps!
