I love love love 7 Layer Dip… the day after the party, this is always the first thing I go for! I just can’t even believe how cute and easy these are!
A few little tips for this recipe:
- The milk is added to the beans to soften them up
- Allow the salsa to drain while you are preparing the other ingredients
- If you don’t want to use store-bought guacamole, you can squish up an avocado with a little lime juice and finely diced onion
- You only use a portion of the taco mix here, just store the rest for next time
- Chips, Baked Tortillas, Crackers and even veggies are all great dippers
If you’d like to make these ahead of time, prepare all of the “layers” the night before and on the day of you can quickly layer up the cups! These are perfect to serve at any party or gathering… say perhaps a Superbowl Party!!! I like to serve them with little spoons to make it easy to scrape out the bottom of the cup!

This cute recipe was inspired by The Girl Who Ate Everything!
Loved this! it was fun, yummy, and a big hit at the picnic. Your taco seasoning is delicious. I used it on my
oven baked chicken.
Thank you!
Recipe says 12 servings, yet you say 8 and then you say 8-10??
This recipe serves 12 using 8 oz cups. Enjoy!
What do you have to do to get a recipe.
Hi Sheryl, there are two ways to get the recipe. You can scroll down towards the bottom of the post or use the jump to recipe button at the top. Hope that helps!
What size clear cups do you use? Can’t wait to make these tomorrow for a work party!
I used 8oz cups but any cups will work. If you see cups that are a bit wider (or even little bowls) those work too. I check the dollar store to see what they have and also grab little spoons for serving if they’re deeper.
Love 7-layer dip, and I love the idea of individual servings even more! So perfect for game day parties coming up. Thanks for this recipe!
Great idea Marlynn! SUPER game day friendly!
I love 7-layer dip as well and you will catch me standing by it when I am at parties. I probably am not the best guest, but I will make sure all the food is gone. lol. This is a great idea to make this dip a bit more portable and guest friendly.
Thank you Ben, I think that those who eat all the food are the BEST guests!
I love this idea to serve your 7 layer dip recipe. Great for portion control and looks adorable.
As much or as little as you’d like Heidy!
This looks so delicious and I love this idea! Especially since I never feel like I’ll get my fill from dips at parties! So now, with these individual cups, I can have as much dip as I want!
Thank you Elaine! I love dip too!
These are such a great idea. Love that it is portable for carrying around a party. Seems like it would be less mess than a traditional 7 layer dip too!
You’re right Jill, a great party food!
we decide to try this recipe for a special occasion and they turn out to be so cute and delicious.
So glad you loved them Mandy!
How many will this recipe make and how many oz. are your cups?
This looks fantastic. We were thinking of doing a taco party for my sons graduation and this looks like it would be better. More portion control and less time the day of the party messing with food. I have a question though, Has anyone tried it with ground beef that has been mixed with seasoning. Would it work with a small layer of meat in the cup? wasn’t sure because it would end up being served as cold meat but I know people love meat in tacos. Give me your thoughts please. I don’t want it to come out wrong or get anyone sick
Thanks!
If you were thinking a chilled beef mixture, you can put the beef on the bottom and keep them on ice (would be cute for presentation). If you were thinking a hot beef mixture, you can put it on the bottom as well and possibly use mason jars in water in a slow cooker to keep it hot.
I had these at a super bowl party yesterday. They were in smaller cups though. I think the bigger cups is the way to go. Happy Monday!
does the bean mixture need to be warmed up first?
I serve it cold.
