How to Make Fruit Dip
This is the easiest dip recipe you’ll ever make. Just 2 ingredients and even fewer steps!
- Beat the cream cheese with a mixer until it’s smooth.
- Gently fold in the marshmallow fluff.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes and serve!
If you want to add a little extra something to your dip, you can always try adding in a “flavor booster” to take it up a notch!
Flavor Boosters:
- Citrus: add some fresh orange or lemon zest and a tiny squeeze of lemon or orange juice.
- Vanilla: add a few drops of vanilla extract!
- Cherry: A little bit of maraschino cherry juice adds a bit of flavor and a pretty pink color.
- Nutty: a spoonful of peanut butter makes for a fun dip for apple slices.
You sure can! It tastes especially good when it is chilled and served with an assortment of fruits or even cookies on a hot summer day!
This fruit dip will keep at least a week in the fridge and will taste fresher if it is tightly covered. To make it fluffy again, simply give it a firm whip-up with a whisk.
Yes, this fruit dip freezes well.
This dip is so versatile; dip strawberries, apples, grapes, pineapple, melons, or your favorite fruit. It’s great for snacks or even served as a treat!
You can certainly turn this into a yogurt fruit dip. Add ½ cup of sweetened yogurt or Greek yogurt, any flavor, to the dip and stir to combine.

Hello how long will this keep in the fridge?
This will be good for up to a week. Enjoy Taryn!
Is it possible to make this dip with marshmallows if you do not have fluff? If so, do you need to add anything else?
I have not tried making this with just marshmallows. You could try making your own fluff if you cannot find it.
So easy and sooo good! I made it for my daughter’s wedding shower yesterday and it was a HIT!!
So glad it was a hit at the wedding shower Kandy, it’s one of our favorites too!
I used strawberry cream cheese amazing
Can you use the Philadelphia cream cheese 1/3 less fat? Will that make any difference?
That should still work great in this recipe.
I have tasted this recipe before, but never made it. So — thank you for sharing it.
I’ve had this dip many times at other events but, never made it myself. I made it for the first time and used this recipe. I doubled it and added vanilla. I know a lot of people use it for fruit but we used several cookies, and pound cake to dip. Really so delicious!
That sounds delicious, Leslie! So happy you are enjoying it.
This recipe does not tell you what size cream cheese or what size marshmallow they both come in many different sizes
Sharon, the full ingredients and instructions do include the amounts. Please click “Jump to Recipe” at the top, or scroll down to find the exact amounts. Enjoy the dip! It’s so good!

Your family didn’t create it either…….. I actually know hundreds of folks that have been making it also for a very long time. Now……. The point I’m trying to make to you ma’am is your comment came across as rude just like mine. It sure is a whole lot easier to just spread a little kindness. I’ll go ahead and apologize for being rude to you. It really doesn’t matter who thought this up. It’s absolutely delicious!!!!! Have a wonderful day. God bless!!!!!
Why can’t people stop being mean? If you have nothing nice to say then don’t comment at all! Geez!!!
